This is a regular role, based in Manila, tasked to collaborate with functional allied teams to ensure the best technical outcome for the Tampakan Mine project in order to.

  • Develop a revised mine plan and associated infrastructure that would support the mining operation with the least impact on community and environment.
  • Develop technical studies and supporting documentation for the development of the Tampakan Mining operation.
  • Interface with National Government agencies to support the approval processes that are required prior to starting construction and operations.

Specific Personal Accountabilities

  1. Sustainable Development Practices – Comply with relevant Company SD targets.
  1. Project Development – Act as Project Owner to the High Voltage Power Supply and Transmission Line Package; oversee Facility Maintenance works; and, act as technical resource to all project development activities.
  1. Technical Assistance and Compliance – The position will be actively involved in development of documents to obtain the necessary amendments to existing approvals from National Government Agencies. This would require presentations and interface with key government decisions makers.
  1. Field Activities – Coordinate field activities to support the study, this will include engagement with contractors, technical staff, security and SMI community affairs department. This will require time on site to ensure a satisfactory outcome of field activities.
  1. Environmental – Ensure all designs and technical aspects meet the approved ECC, Philippine and international and International Standards were applicable.
  1. Social– Ensure social acceptability is consider in designs and mine implementation planning.

Key requirements:

  • Licensed Mining Engineer
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the Mining Industry
  • Computer literate and with knowledge in using MS Project
  • Knowledge of the requirements on mining industry management systems and standards (compliance with local and international standards)
  • Ability to plan own work, set priorities and complete it under pressure
  • Good in organizing and planning skills and customer service orientation; leadership and teamwork
