This role will support the implementation of the mine construction and development of specific work packages including other relevant special projects, ensuring seamless interface with stakeholders for the overall long-term development of the mine project in accordance with the project schedule and technical specifications.

Key responsibilities :

  1. Sustainable Development Practices – Ensure effective use of the Project’s safety and environment-friendly standards and systems within the work area of responsibility to positively contribute to nurturing the organization’s sustainable development culture.
  2. Project DevelopmentProvide technical support and leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of all project construction activities, managing delivery of works by various technical service providers and interfacing with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Risk Management – Undertake risk assessments associated with project development periodically updating and reporting the department risks.
  4. Team Leadership – Manage staff to ensure timely delivery of targets by coaching, mentoring, and supporting whenever necessary to maximize contribution to overall organizational objectives.
  5. Reporting and Compliance – Ensure that efficient controls, monitoring and coordination processes are in place to manage and sustain ongoing compliance with relevant international and local laws and standards. Ensure that the reporting is coordinated across the work area in accordance with the prescribed requirements.
  6. Admin and Cost Management – Ascertain prudent and responsible cost management within the area of responsibility.

Key requirements:

  • Licensed civil engineer
  • At least 5 - 10 years experience working on mine sites or mine infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to assess project construction risks and deliver engineering solutions and strategies to overcome technical barriers on mine development  projects
  • Demonstrate and integrate aspects of mining operations into early project planning during construction
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent contract management skills
  • Proficiency in technical writing and project proposal preparation, development and management at the construction site
  • Ability to deliver construction projects while demonstrating a proficient level of Project Management skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, coordination, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Willing to work with and understand cross-cultural project aspects
  • High level of awareness of health, safety, environment, and stakeholder engagement practices and standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera software applications
