SMI Produces 20 University and College Graduates from Columbio for SY 2022-2023

Tampakan, South Cotabato - Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) has successfully produced 20 university and colleges graduates from its host municipality of Columbio in Sultan Kudarat, through its Expanded Education and Scholarship Program for the School Year 2022-2023.

Municipal Mayor Tondatu Mangudadatu announced on Friday, July 28, that SMI has played a big role in shaping the futures of these talented individuals.

"Dahil sa Scholarship Program ng SMI, naging madali para sa atin, sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Columbio, na matulungan ang mga batang ito sa kanilang pag-aaral," the mayor said.

SMI is the holder of a Financial or Technical Assistance Agreement with the Philippine Government to explore, develop and operate the Tampakan Copper-Gold Project, one of the largest undeveloped copper-gold deposits in the world. Columbio is one of the host municipalities of SMI's Tampakan Project.

Under its Social Development and Management Program, SMI provides financial aid to talented and deserving students to give them access to educational opportunities that are not normally available to them and had already invested more than PhP1.2 billion in financing various projects and activities that are aimed at improving the socio–economic, health and educational conditions of the communities where the Tampakan Project is located.

Last School Year, SMI also produced 26 successful university and college graduates through  its educational program.

"We wish that the SMI can soon operate so that more of our children can avail of its scholarship program," Mayor Mangudadatu added.

Among those who graduated this year were SMI Scholars:

2.    Kirsten Lirano, BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from Caraga State University;

3.    Jessa Manapacan Vistar, BA in Public Administration from the South East Asian Institute of Technology, Inc;

4.    Leo Mark Ducusin, BA in Hospitality Management from STI;

5.    Krizza Thea Casamir, BA in Accountancy from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College;

6.    Erica De Guzman, BS in Computer Science from University of Southern Mindanao;

7.    Ryan Frits Armada, BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Marvelous College of Technology;

8.    John Erlls Daliba, BA in Internal Auditing from the University of Mindanao;

9.    Naima Taha, BS in Nursing from Colegio de Kidapawan;

10. Nor-en Tambawang, BS in Nursing from Sultan Kudarat Educational Institution, Inc.;

11. Princess Joy Guiamelon, BA in Office Administration from South Central Mindanao College;

12. T'Fani Eddy Tuan, BA in Secondary Education from Adventist College Technology, Inc.;

13. Julie Ann Grapa, BA in Secondary Education from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College;
