SMI Partners with Malungon For "Treevolution"
Tampakan, South Cotabato - Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) on Wednesday, October 20, 2022, provided 1,000 seedlings of hardwood and fruit-bearing trees to the Municipal Government of Malungon, Sarangani, for their upcoming "Treevolution" greening event next month
Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Joel M. Martinez personally facilitated the hauling of the seedling from SMI's nursery in Barangay Silway 7, Polomolok, South Cotabato. The donated seedlings included Mahogany (200 seedlings), Narra (350 seedlings), Marang (300 seedlings), Tuai (110 seedlings) and Bakab (40 seedlings).
SMI has long been carrying out multi-sectoral partnership with its host and neighboring communities in various tree planting and forest protection activities.
Since 2006, the Company itself has already planted more than 1.3 million endemic, indigenous and fruit bearing trees under its own reforestation programs. (30)
