Malungon, Sarangani – Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), in collaboration with partner local government units and government line agencies, joined the LINGAP (Local Ingenuity in Alleviating Poverty) sa Barangay, a flagship outreach program of the Local Government Unit of Malungon, held on June 5, 2026, in Barangay Blaan, Malungon, Sarangani Province.
The initiative aimed to bring essential government programs and public services closer to communities, particularly those in remote areas. Residents were able to access a wide range of services, including legal consultation, medical check-ups, voter registration, tax collection and cedula issuance, labor market services, PhilSys birth registration assistance, Kasalan ng Bayan, and other government services designed to improve access and promote inclusive development.
As part of its commitment to community welfare, SMI donated medicines and supplementary vitamins to residents, especially senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, and newly circumcised children. The company also provided hygiene kits and slippers for children, helping promote health, sanitation, and personal well-being among beneficiaries. These initiatives contribute to improving the quality of life of community members while supporting preventive healthcare and proper hygiene practices. In addition, SMI provided food assistance to residents who participated in the activity.
Hon. Sweetly Mae Galang-Laguirder, Liga ng mga Barangay President of Malungon and Barangay Chairperson of Blaan, expressed her gratitude for the company’s continued support.
“We are very thankful to the company of SMI. Aside from the medicines, there are hygiene kits and slippers for the children. It is proven and tested how dedicated the company is in fulfilling its social responsibility here in Barangay Blaan,” she said.
