Tampakan, South Cotabato — The Barangay Local Government Unit of Poblacion, in Tampakan, South Cotabato has expressed gratitude to its partner Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) for championing and sustaining health and wellness programs for the community.
During SMI’s rice distribution activity last May 28, 2025, Barangay Poblacion Chairman Jose Nilo G. Vargas announced that their barangay has earned another feather in its cap, after bagging the 1st Place Award during the 8th Provincial Health Summit (Above 5,000 Population Category) – saying they owe big part of this achievement to their private partner SMI.
Last year, SMI has allocated P150,000 for the provision of prescription and maintenance medicine, including vitamins and other health initiatives for the local health center.
“Dahil diyan, ang Barangay Poblacion naging champion in terms sa health programs, kami ang most outstanding for the whole province,” the barangay official proudly said.
Vargas also expressed his gratitude to the mining firm for helping the barangay government in its effort to advance the socio-economic developments of its communities.
Sagittarius Mines, Inc. is committed to the goal of excellence in its operations and contributes to the economic and cultural development of sustainable communities associated with the Tampakan Project. (30)
