DepEd lauds SMI's contribution in fostering education in Soccsksargen
Tampakan, South Cotabato - The Department of Education in Soccsksargen on Friday, December 20, 2024, cited Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) for its continued support in fostering the region’s basic education.
During the annual Pugay Pasasalamat ceremony at The Farm in Koronadal City, DepEd Regional Partnership Focal Person Ismael Ngitngit, Jr. lauded the mining firm for its valuable contribution in helping the agency toward achieving the MATATAG agenda.
The Pugay Pasasalamat is DepEd's way of recognizing and appreciating its stakeholders and partners for their various contributions toward achieving the agency's objectives.
"Thank you so much Sagittarius Mines, Inc. for helping DepEd reached its goal. Thank you for joining with us. We hope to see you in more partnerships and God bless you all," Ngitngit said.
For School Year 2023-2024, a total of 1,354 underprivileged but deserving students from SMI's host and neighboring communities in South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao del Sur, and Sultan Kudarat have received scholarship grants under the mining firm's Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).
SMI has also been active in supporting DepEd's Brigada Eskwela campaign and other curricular and non-curricular activities.
