Tampakan, South Cotabato – Learning in the classroom is made more engaging when teachers have the right tools and resources to support their lessons. Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) turned over a Smart TV, school supplies, and slippers to Danlag Daycare Center and Campo 1 Daycare Center in Barangay Danlag, Tampakan, South Cotabato on September 29, 2026, providing additional support for the learning and daily needs of young learners.
The assistance provides the daycare centers with resources to support classroom activities and the children’s everyday needs. The Smart TV, in particular, gives teachers an additional tool for storytelling, educational presentations, dance activities, songs, and interactive exercises, helping make lessons more engaging and participatory.
For Vivian A. Son, teacher of Campo 1 Daycare Center, the Smart TV will be a valuable addition to their classroom.
“Dako gyud ang matabang sa mga bata, labi na sa storytelling ug sa mga sayaw-sayaw nila. Ma-enjoy gyud nila kay naa na silay dako nga screen. Salamat, SMI.”
She shared that the new equipment could encourage children to participate more actively, particularly during storytelling and dance activities where visual materials can help sustain their attention and interest.
Meanwhile, Lelibeth Z. Luceñara, teacher of Danlag Daycare Center expressed her appreciation for the support extended to the young learners.
“We are very thankful sa mga nag abot nga blessings from SMI. Dako ni nga tabang para sa kabataan. Very thankful kami.”
The initiative forms part of SMI’s continuing commitment to supporting its host and neighboring communities through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP). By responding to community needs and supporting education initiatives, SMI aims to contribute to opportunities that benefit children and families while supporting long-term community development.
For SMI, responsible mining is also about creating lasting value in the communities where it operates. Through the SDMP, SMI works with its host and neighboring communities to support education and other local priorities, contributing to stronger communities today and better opportunities for the generations to come.
