Koronadal City — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato on Monday, July 20, recognized its private partners and sponsors for helping ensure the success of the 27th T’nalak Festival and the province’s 60th Foundation Anniversary.
During the Thanksgiving Ceremony, Provincial Accountant Cynthia Barrientos, co-chairperson of the Festival’s Committee on Ways and Means, expressed gratitude to the sponsors, saying their generous support was instrumental in the successful staging of the province’s week-long celebration.
“We would also like to thank you for extending your assistance and help during the time we needed it. You really did not make it hard for us,” Barrientos said.
She disclosed that the province received about ₱7.1 million in cash and in-kind contributions from various sponsors, describing the support as a significant boost to festival operations.
“We cannot repay the support you have given us,” she added.
Among those recognized was Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), one of the festival’s long-time sponsors that has consistently supported South Cotabato’s flagship cultural celebration.
As a long-standing partner of the national government in promoting inclusive growth, SMI continues to support initiatives that foster culture, tourism, and community development in South Cotabato and neighboring communities in Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Davao del Sur, particularly within the Tampakan Project area.
The Tampakan Project is being developed to create shared value by ensuring that the responsible development of mineral resources generates lasting benefits for government, host communities, and the company.
Through the project, SMI aims to translate the area’s mineral potential into tangible opportunities, including quality employment, livelihood and business opportunities, Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) initiatives in health, education, and livelihood, and support for local development priorities in partnership with government and host communities.
The Thanksgiving Ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to sponsors and partners in recognition of their continued support for South Cotabato’s flagship festival and foundation anniversary celebration. (30)
