Nurturing Mothers, Strengthening Communities: SMI Supports 1st Buntis Congress in Barangay Miasong

Tupi, South Cotabato – Smiles, laughter, and heartfelt words of encouragement filled the venue as expectant mothers gathered for the 1st Buntis Congress of Barangay Miasong in Tupi, South Cotabato. Supported by Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), the meaningful gathering celebrated motherhood while promoting the health, welfare, and well-being of pregnant women in the community.

Held on May 21, 2026 at the Sangguniang Kabataan Office of Barangay Miasong, the activity brought together pregnant women, barangay and municipal health workers, representatives from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tupi, barangay officials, and SMI personnel in a shared commitment to maternal health, family wellness, and community care.

Designed to educate and empower expectant mothers, the Buntis Congress featured informative discussions on proper maternal care, breastfeeding, nutrition, and family planning, all aimed at helping mothers experience safer and healthier pregnancies while ensuring the well-being of their babies.

Adding warmth to the gathering, SMI distributed food supplies and vitamins to the pregnant women, providing additional support for both mother and child during pregnancy.

Ronalyn Dela Cruz, one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude during the activity. “Pinaagi sa sini nga programa, mas nakabalo kami sang mga dapat namon himuon bilang mga buntis para maprotektahan ang amon kaugalingon kag ang amon mga bata. Salamat sa SMI.”
