Kiblawan, Davao del Sur — Demonstrating its continuing commitment to education and community welfare, Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) distributed hygiene kits, slippers, and toys to 78 kindergarten and elementary learners of Tacub Elementary School – Abnate Campus on November 25, 2025.
The initiative seeks to promote proper hygiene among young learners, provide durable footwear for daily use, and bring joy through simple gifts that help create a more positive and engaging learning environment. This effort forms part of SMI’s ongoing support programs for host and neighboring communities, particularly those in geographically remote areas.
Teachers and pupils warmly welcomed the SMI team, expressing excitement and gratitude as each learner received their kit, toys, and pair of slippers. The gesture brought smiles to many students, some of whom travel long distances to reach the school and reinforced the importance of maintaining good hygiene both at home and in the classroom.
Arnes B. Pandoy, Teacher I of Tacul Elementary School, expressed her appreciation for SMI’s sustained support:
“We are truly grateful to SMI for this generous assistance. These hygiene kits and slippers may seem simple, but they make a big difference in the daily lives of our pupils. Thank you for helping our learners feel cared for and valued.”
SMI emphasized that the initiative reflects its commitment to education, child welfare, and strong community partnerships. By supporting schools such as Tacul Elementary School – Abnate Campus, the company aims to encourage healthier habits, improve school readiness, and contribute to a nurturing environment where young learners can thrive.
