Tampakan, South Cotabato — Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare with the recent turnover of essential medicines including vitamins, and medical supplies in Barangay Pulabato, in Tampakan, South Cotabato.
The turnover ceremony was held on August 11, 2025, at the Barangay Health Center of Pulabato. The event was attended by barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Neil Ryan Escobillo, barangay health workers, and SMI representatives.
This initiative seeks to strengthen basic health services by ensuring the supply of essential medicines and improving the nutritional status and overall health of children and other vulnerable sectors in the project area.
Barangay Kagawad Monica Suat expressed her gratitude to SMI, noting that the support will greatly benefit residents who have limited access to medicines and proper nutrition. The official emphasized that beyond material aid, the assistance serves as a source of hope and inspiration for their community.
“Maraming salamat sa SMI sa kanilang tulong sa barangay Pulabato dahil ang mga gamot na ito ay malaking tulong para sa mga residente ng aming munting barangay lalong lalo sa mga taong walang kakayahan na bumili ng mga gamot lalong lalo na ang mga nangangailangan ng mga pang maintenance na medisina.” Kagawad Suat said.
The SMI–Community Partnership remains a key component of the company’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), underscoring SMI’s broader mission to deliver sustainable care and support to its host and neighboring communities.
Through the provision of medicines and nutrition program assistance, SMI continues to bring health and hope closer to those who need it most. (30)
