Columbio, Sultan Kudarat – Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI), in partnership with the Municipal Local Government of Columbio, brought happiness and joy to Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as they celebrated their birth months through the AMM Kapamilya Handog Pasasalamat, a heartfelt gift-giving activity honoring their lives and valuable contributions to the community.
Held on February 6-7, the two-day celebration covered five barangays: Datalblao, Lasak, New Bantangan, Telafas, and Libertad. Smiles and laughter filled the venues as beneficiaries born in January and February gathered to receive their special gifts. What began as a simple gathering turned into a meaningful celebration of gratitude, fellowship, and recognition, reminding everyone of the importance of honoring the elderly and PWD sector.
In his message, Municipal Mayor Amihr Musali highlighted the strong collaboration between the local government and its partners in delivering programs that uplift vulnerable sectors of society.
“We are thankful to our partners, especially Sagittarius Mines Inc., because through initiatives like this, our Senior Citizens and PWDs are reminded that they are valued, respected, and an important part of the Columbio community,” Mayor Musali shared.
Representing SMI, Community Relations Supervisor Moreno Tagawalo conveyed the company’s continued commitment to community support.
“Sagittarius Mines Inc. remains committed to supporting programs that bring joy and assistance to our communities. Through the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), we aim to strengthen our partnership with the local government and ensure that no sector is left behind—especially our Senior Citizens and PWDs who have greatly contributed to society,” Tagawalo said.
Meanwhile, Corpuz M. Baguil, President of the Senior Citizens Association in Barangay Datalblao, expressed heartfelt gratitude during a short interview.

“Malaki ang aming pasasalamat sa LGU, SMI at sa lahat ng tumulong sa amin na mabigyan ng bigas at pera. Hindi lamang ito regalo para sa amin kundi pagpakita na minamahal kami. Masaya kami na sa ganitong paraan ma-celebrate ang birthday namin,” she shared with a warm smile.
The initiative forms part of SMI’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), reflecting a shared commitment to inclusive growth, social responsibility, and genuine community care.
