AMPAKAN, South Cotabato – Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) co-sponsored this year’s Paskuhan Ng Bayan Festival of the Municipality of Tupi in South Cotabato.
Dubbed as one of the festive attractions in the province during the holiday season, Paskuhan Ng Bayan draws both local and foreign tourists with its grandiose Christmas Décor Contest, Paskuhan Sa Dalan Grand Parade and Grand Fireworks Display.
For this year and even though it is not yet operating, SMI donated PhP 10,000 to sponsor the events and the gift-giving program prepared by the local government to make the celebration in this season of love more meaningful and joyful.
It is also SMI’s way of thanking the municipality for its help in addressing the health concerns of some SMI staff and stakeholders during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Matutum, Tupi is considered as the fruit, vegetable, and flower basket of South Cotabato and is adjacent to Tampakan, which is a host municipality within the Tampakan Copper-Gold Project area.
Ms. Edna Balaso of the Office of the Municipal Treasurer received the check on behalf of the municipal government.
