Malungon, Sarangani – Gratitude ran deep in Barangay Malabod as Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), turned over medicines and Buntis Kits to residents, showing its continuing support for better, more accessible healthcare. The turnover was held on August 3, 2026, at the Barangay Malabod Gymnasium.
Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) officials, barangay health workers, and community members joined the activity, warmly welcoming the initiative and sharing their thanks for SMI’s steady help. More than a simple turnover, the gathering underscored the strong partnership between SMI and Barangay Malabod in caring for the health and well-being of the community.
In his message, Barangay Captain Denerick Edo Sarona thanked the company for its sustained assistance and the many development programs it continues to bring to Malabod:
“Daghan silag mga benepisyo ug mga programa nga gina hatag kada tuig, dili lang ni mao, daghan pa. Salamat kaayo sa SMI sa pag suporta ninyo sa Barangay Malabod. Dako kaayo ni nga opportunity para sa amoa.”
Expectant mother Jerquin Policarpio also shared her gratitude, saying the assistance will ease the costs of preparing for childbirth:
“Blessings gyud ni para namong mga buntis. Dako kaayo ni nga tabang kay maka-save mi ug kuwarta, ug naa na pud mi magamit nga Buntis Kit. Daghang salamat sa Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) sa inyong padayon nga suporta sa among komunidad.”
By providing medicines and maternal care kits, SMI helps strengthen basic healthcare at the barangay level, especially for mothers, children, and families in its host and neighboring communities.
