Tampakan, South Cotabato – Smiles and laughter filled Barangay Liberty as 400 residents gathered for a community feeding program during the 11th Maskalaya Festival on September 19, 2025. The activity, supported by Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI), was one of the highlights of the barangay’s 75th Foundation Anniversary.
For many families, the program was more than just a shared meal. It was a celebration of wellness, care, and the spirit of togetherness that the Maskalaya Festival has long stood for. Parents and children lined up side by side, enjoying hearty food while bonding with neighbors in a festive atmosphere.
Barangay Captain Noli Jalagat warmly thanked SMI for its unwavering support over the years.
“Salamat sa SMI sa kanilang walang sawang suporta. Ang kanilang pakikilahok sa ating selebrasyon ay patunay na hindi lamang sila kaagapay sa pagpapaunlad ng ating barangay kundi katuwang din sa pagpapabuti ng kalusugan at kapakanan ng ating mga mamamayan.”
The Maskalaya Festival is cherished in Barangay Liberty as a time to honor camaraderie, gratitude, and resilience. This year, with SMI’s participation, the celebration became even more meaningful—strengthening not only community bonds but also the partnership between the people of Liberty and their steadfast supporters.
