Tampakan, South Cotabato – Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) continues to uphold its commitment to community welfare and public health through the turnover of essential medicines, vitamins, assorted medical supplies, and a medical-grade refrigerator to the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Lampitak, Tampakan, South Cotabato.
The turnover ceremony, held on October 27, 2025 at the Barangay Health Station of Lampitak, was attended Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) headed by Barangay Captain Marinilio Ngalon, barangay health workers led by Ms. Rendylle C. Silvela, RN, and representatives from SMI.
This initiative aims to enhance the barangay’s healthcare services by ensuring the availability of basic medical needs, particularly for residents in areas with limited access to health services. The provision of a medical-grade refrigerator also ensures the safe storage of vaccines and temperature-sensitive supplies, improving the barangay’s overall capacity for healthcare delivery.
Barangay Captain Marinilio Ngalon expressed his appreciation to SMI for its continued partnership and assistance in improving the delivery of basic healthcare services, highlighting how such support contributes to a healthier and more resilient community.
Maraming salamat, SMI!” he added.
This health initiative forms part of SMI’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), which supports projects in education, livelihood, environment, and social services. Through these programs, SMI continues to demonstrate its mission of promoting the well-being of its host and neighboring communities and its steadfast commitment to responsible mining and community empowerment.
