In Tampakan, South Cotabato, a quiet moment turned into a loud chorus of gratitude when Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) reaffirmed its commitment to the health and well-being of nearby communities.
On October 27, 2025, a simple turnover ceremony became a powerful message of care as essential medicines, vitamins, and assorted medical supplies were handed over to the Local Barangay Government Unit of Danlag at the Barangay Health Center of Sta. Cruz.
The event drew the presence of Barangay Captain Judith Jamero Magbanua, diligently serving Danlag, along with barangay health workers and representatives from SMI. The room carried a meaningful sense of shared purpose as shutters clicked and conversations mingled with the soft hum of medical supplies being inventoried for a future of healthier days.
This initiative is more than a donation. It is part of SMI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening basic health services in its host and neighboring communities. By ensuring a steady supply of essential medicines and nutritional supplements, the program supports mothers-to-be, young children, and other vulnerable groups who rely on reliable access to care.
Her words echoed through the room, reflecting a community that sees health as a shared responsibility and a future shaped by partnership.
“The suporta ng SMI simula pa noon hanggang ngayon ay nagpapatunay ng magandang adhikain ng kumpanya para sa mga mamamayan ng Barangay Danlag at buong Tampakan,” she added. “Mapapalawak ang serbisyong pangkalusugan dahil sa tulong na ito.”
Her sentiment captured the broader hope that health services will continue to expand, reach more families, and sustain long-term well-being.
SMI’s Community Partnership initiative is a cornerstone of the company’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP). It embodies SMI’s mission to foster sustainable growth and elevate the quality of life in its host communities.
Through ongoing support for local health programs, SMI remains steadfast in its vision of bringing health, hope, and opportunity closer to the people of Tampakan.
For the Danlag community, this handover is more than supplies—it is a signal of trust, a reminder that health is a community effort, and a promise that tomorrow’s healthy smiles start with today’s shared action. The story of Danlag’s health journey continues, with SMI walking beside them every step of the way. (30)
