BLGU Kimlawis commends Sagittarius Mines, Inc. for swift and compassionate disaster relief efforts

Kiblawan, Davao del Sur — The Barangay Local Government Unit of Kimlawis, in Kiblawan town, Davao del Sur has expressed its gratitude to Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) for its immediate assistance to the recent landslide incident in the area due to incessant rain brought about by Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

Punong Barangay Cristituto Duazo, Sr. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, also cited SMI for its proactive involvement to address the pressing needs of around 700 residents in the borders of Sitio Kiamo, Adlumay, and Bongmal, who were left stranded due to the blockage of roads with debris.

Duazo said the road clearing operation took them more than one month, highlighting that without the collaboration of the provincial and the local government units and its partner SMI, it would be difficult for them to help the hundreds of affected families.
