1985 - 1990
Mining claims in Tampakan, South Cotabato are lodged by the Tampakan Group of Companies (TGC) comprising Southcot Mining Corporation and Tampakan Mining Corporation.
Western Mining Corporation (Phils) (WMCP) signed an option agreement with TGC.
2002
Indophil Resources , through Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI), acquires an interest in the Tampakan Project ,begins active exploration, and assumes the role of project manager.
2006
Xstrata Copper acquires majority interest in the Tampakan Project.
2010
Start of the Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) process.
SMI completes its Environmental Impact Assessment of the Tampakan Project.
2013
Glencore plc merges with Xstrata and takes over management of SMI.
The Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) for the Tampakan Copper-Gold Project is issued.
2014
Secured approval of the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).
2015
Glencore plc divests its stake in SMI in favor of Indophil Resources NL which subsequently cedes majority ownership of SMI to Indophil Resources Philippines, Inc. – a Philippine owned and controlled company.
2016
Received extension of the Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement (FTAA) for a period of 12 years from the expiration of the first 25 years in 2020.
Obtained approval of the Declaration of Mine Project Feasibility.
2017
Obtained approval for the Environment Protection and Enhancement Program and the Final Mine Rehabilitation/Decommissioning Plan.
Start of the Development Stage of the Project.
2018
Obtained Mine Access Road ECC.
Commenced early works and completed operationalization of the base camp.
2019
Obtained approval of the 3-year Development and Utilization Work Program.
SMI and the IP Community sign Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) Memorandum of Agreement.
The National Commission of Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) En Banc approves the Certificate Precondition (CP) Application.
2020
The NCIP issues the CP of FPIC for the Tampakan Project.
2021
Approved ECC for the Multi-User Port Facility.
2022
Obtained additional 6-year extension of the FTAA (Expiring in 2038).
2028
Prospective start of production.
