Infrastructure Outside the Mine Site

The proposed mining operation would also incorporate other infrastructure outside the mine site. This would include the following:  

  • A coal fired power station
  • A filter plant
  • A port to transport the copper-gold concentrate to international customers and to import coal
  • A copper-gold concentrate pipeline from the mines site to the port
  • Power transmission lines from the power station to the mine site.

Separate environmental impact assessment studies for related off-site infrastructure, including a port facility, power station, transmission lines and concentrate pipeline, are currently underway.
