TAMPAKAN, South Cotabato — Religious and community leaders in the Sbangken Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) of Tampakan are calling on residents to embrace unity, peaceful relations, and responsible leadership.
The call came after a two-day Human Relations and Leadership Training attended by religious leaders from the Tocay Mal Assembly of God, Sitio Bato Assembly of God, Sitio Logdeck GGTS, and the Seventh-day Adventist congregation in Sitio Logdeck.
The training strengthened participants’ commitment to reach out to other members of the Sbangken community, encouraging them to serve the Lord and help prevent violence through faith-based values.
Organizers said the program promotes respect, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence by encouraging participants to live out Christian teachings in their daily lives.
Participants also thanked Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) for supporting the activity and for its continuing efforts to back initiatives that contribute to community development.
“Daghan kaayong salamat sa SMI sa padayong suporta sa among komunidad. Kami nagatuo sa maayong tinguha sa kompaniya alang sa kaayuhan sa komunidad, hilabi na sa mga tribu,” said Pastor Reynaldo Galila, one of the lead convenors of the activity.
SMI continues to advocate responsible mining through the Tampakan Project while supporting programs that create opportunities and contribute to sustainable development in its host and neighboring communities. (30)
