The bridge, inaugurated on June 2, 2026, provides farmers, students, and families with a safer and more reliable river crossing, especially during periods of heavy rainfall.

The blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by Columbio Mayor Amirh Mangelen Musali and SMI Community Relations Superintendent Arnold San. The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of the municipality and the company in delivering projects and benefit local communities.

With the bridge now in place, farmers can transport agricultural produce more efficiently, students can travel to school more safely, and residents have improved access to essential services.

Barangay Telafas Captain Roland V. Calub expressed his gratitude for the project, saying:

“Malaking tulong ito para sa aming barangay, lalo na sa aming mga farmers. Kaya malaki ang aming pasalamat sa SMI at sa Munisipyo ng Columbio.”

In his message, Mayor Amirh Musali emphasized the value of collaboration in advancing meaningful development initiatives:

“This project demonstrates what can be achieved when the local government and private sector, such as SMI, work together with a common goal of serving the people. We thank Sagittarius Mines, Inc. for its continued partnership with the Municipality of Columbio. Through this collaboration, we can bring projects that improve safety, accessibility, and opportunities for our communities.”

The completion of the bridge reflects the company’s commitment to community development through initiatives that create lasting benefits for livelihoods, safety, and overall well-being.

Through strong partnerships with local government units and community stakeholders, SMI continues to support projects that promote inclusive growth and sustainable development in its host and neighboring communities. (30)
