Kiblawan, Davao del Sur – True to its commitment to helping host communities improve their quality of life, Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) recently turned over a Php1.5-million social development fund to the Municipality of Kiblawan.

SMI has been providing financial assistance to the local government to support programs and activities aimed at boosting the economic productivity and overall welfare of residents.

Kiblawan Vice Mayor Joel G. Calma, along with members of the Sangguniang Bayan, personally received the cheque from SMI representatives during a simple turnover ceremony held on January 26, 2026.

According to Calma, the fund will be used to further improve the municipality’s solar street lighting system, which is expected to enhance public safety and convenience, particularly in far-flung areas.

SMI reiterated its commitment to continue supporting its host communities through sustainable development initiatives, even prior to the start of its commercial operations. (30)
